Dogara Hopeful House Chaos Will Be Resolved

Yakubu Dogara.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, is confident the problems that led to chaotic scenes at the House would be resolved.
This follows the House adjourning sitting on Thursday following rowdy session at the plenary.
The internal crisis of the All Progressive Congress (APC) lawmakers over the leadership of the national assembly took a dramatic situation leading to the disruption of plenary.
Amid the chaos by some members of the lower Parliament, Dogara had to call for an adjournment to July 21.
Lawmakers loyal to the Speaker, quickly moved to take custody of the mace to pre-empt moves to seize it by anti-Dogara members.
Many APC lawmakers are said to be still unhappy with Dogara and Bukola Saraki, the Senate President, for upstaging the party's preferred candidates for their positions.
After almost an hour of rowdiness, Dogara was able to restore normalcy to the house and he reconvened plenary.
He told his colleagues to consider themselves "lucky" to have been chosen to represent their constituencies.
He promised that the crisis would be resolved.
It is believed that while on recess, a lot of engagements, advocacy and meetings would be carried out to ensure that the 8th House of Representatives succeeded in carrying out its mandate of lawmaking for the peace, order and good governance of the federation.
